  • What fees are required to move in at John Purdue Block?

    • Administrative Fee: $150.00 per apartment
    • Security Deposit: Starts at $500.00, up to one month's rent

  • Does John Purdue Block require a credit check?

    Yes. All applicants undergo a thorough background check including, but not limited to, criminal, credit, and rental history. Credit score is not the sole factor; all three areas are reviewed consistently in accordance with Fair Housing guidelines.

  • What are the income requirements to qualify at John Purdue Block?

    Residents must have a gross income that is three times the rental amount to qualify. Only verifiable income is considered for rental applications. If there is more than one person on the lease, their incomes are combined for qualification purposes. John Purdue Block also accepts offer letters as a form of income verification.

  • Is renter's insurance required at John Purdue Block?

    Yes. Each resident is required to carry $100,000 liability coverage including water damage coverage at move-in. This requirement can be met through auto-enrollment in our Damage Waiver Program for a monthly fee of $17.00. Personal property renter's insurance is highly encouraged but not required.

  • What are the occupancy limits at John Purdue Block?

    Our occupancy limits are as follows:

    • Studio / Efficiency: 3 occupants
    • 1-Bedroom: 3 occupants
    • 2-Bedroom: 5 occupants

  • Can residents pay rent online at John Purdue Block?

    Yes. Residents can pay rent, set up recurring payments, and view payment history through the secure resident portal.

    Residents can submit maintenance requests through the online resident portal.

  • How do I schedule a tour of John Purdue Block?

    Tours are offered Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Wednesday tours are available by appointment only. A valid ID is required for each adult present on the tour. Tours begin at our temporary leasing office located at 302 Ferry Street, Lafayette, IN, inside the Fountain Trust & Company. Park around back and find the entrance — head to the left to Suite 101.
